Currently, almost all Ravensteel Forge products are made to order, but some of the railroad knife varieties are made in advance and in stock more regularly.
Made in a variety of styles and steels, these blades form the backbone of daily use knives. The medium size fixed blades are any monosteel knife that has 8 inches of blade or less. These can be done in carbon steel, stainless steel or tool steel as desired by the customer.
Contrary to popular belief, railroad spikes are not actually a suitable metal for blades. At ravensteel forge, we get around this issue by using forge welding to create a composite blade of railroad spike and tool steels.
These blades come in a variety of design as bowies, kitchen knives, cleavers, hunting knives. The sky is the limit.
The most basic versions of these knives are just tool steel and railroad spikes, but more complex designs featuring pattern welded and wrought iron cladding are available.

In general, I have to charge a lot for swords as they take incredible amounts of time, but I do make them.
